Everton may have to shell out big money as Luis Sinisterra angles for Leeds United exit
Leeds United are still not assured over the fact that Luis Sinisterra will stay at the club which comes as good news for Everton.
It appeared that FIFA red tape may scupper the Toffees from signing the Colombian, but another option has opened for them now.
Win Sports TV journalist Pipe Sierra reports on Thursday (31 August) that it’ll take plenty of money but a move before the 11pm Friday deadline is on the cards.
He wrote on Twitter, “Leeds still has not assured the continuity of Luis Sinisterra (24); Several clubs have asked in recent days about his situation. The Colombian does not want to play in the second division.
“He is an expensive player, so it is not an easy deal to get.”
FootballTransfers wrote on 23 August that the Toffees had turned their attention to the Colombia international, 24, in the last week of the window.
Having unsuccessfully chased his teammate Wilfried Gnonto over the course of past month, attentions are turning to Sinisterra.
Unlike Gnonto, who also threw a tantrum and handed in a transfer request at the club, Sinisterra appears to be more driven in his desire to leave.
Both players went on strike, but the Italian has kind of accepted his fate while the Colombian is the resolute one and his future is still up in the air.
It should not come as a surprise if the Toffees make a last-gasp attempt to sign him and if the money is good, Leeds might just give the green signal.
