Everton transfer news as bid for West Ham ace Maxwel Cornet on the cards
Everton are interested in signing out-of-favour West Ham winger Maxwel Cornet, according to the Evening Standard.
The newspaper reported in their online edition (31 August) that Sean Dyche’s men are contemplating making a late move for the 26-year-old, who could be allowed to leave the London Stadium.
Should David Moyes’ men bring in a replacement before Friday’s deadline they could sanction the Ivory Coast international’s exit.

Cornet joined West Ham just last summer from Burnley, in a transfer worth £17.5million, as reported by Sky Sports News (6 August 2022).
Tough
This could be a very tricky deal to get across the line before Friday’s deadline for Dyche’s side. If the Hammers need to get a replacement in before they can consider letting Cornet leave, time might be too tight for both things to be completed and happen in time before the transfer window slams shut on Friday 1 September.
Nonetheless, if the Merseyside club can get a deal done, it would be a fantastic bit of business. Cornet has hardly had a chance at the London Stadium since his switch from Burnley, making just 22 appearances in all competitions last season, and is still a player of real quality who is also very versatile.

He can play as a full-back as well as a winger and that adaptability could prove key to the Toffees’ chance of avoiding a relegation fight this season, as he could cover in various positions in response to injuries and suspensions.
This is one to keep an eye on.
In other Everton news, the club are now in advanced talks to sell a first-team star.
