Wolves swoop in for Che Adams transfer as Everton cannot agree deal
Wolves have entered talks with Southampton over a possible loan deal for Che Adams after Everton were unable to agree the structure of a permanent move, according to John Percy.
The Telegraph journalist shared via his personal Twitter account that the breakdown in talks with the Merseyside club has allowed Wolves to swoop, as they are pushing to bring the Scotland international to Molineux for the season.
Reports previously claimed that Southampton were asking for Everton to pay £5million upfront after agreeing to a £15million deal, but the Toffees were haggling over the structure of their payments [inews].
Beto deal will ease the pain
Should this deal have broken down this time last week, Everton fans would have been up in arms with the club failing to finalise a move for the striker they so desperately needed to sign this summer. With the arrival of Beto from Udinese, though, this is much less of a concern.
The new arrival at Goodison Park scored his first goal for the club in the Carabao Cup win over Doncaster Rovers, in what fans will hope was a sign of things to come. Missing out on Adams will be frustrating for all involved, but not a disaster.
Reports previously suggested that the Toffees would attempt to bring in Adams alongside Beto, but that may now be impossible. It will be particularly frustrating if Adams does sign for their Premier League rivals and hit the ground running – or should he score against the Toffees, which always feels inevitable in these situations.

Everton now have Beto, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Neal Maupay, Youssef Chermiti and Lewis Dobbin able to play up front in Sean Dyche’s side, with plenty of options for rotation and depth there should they be needed throughout the season.
In other Everton news, a striker could now be set to leave the club with exit talks ongoing.
