Alan Myers responds as Everton transfer prediction made on deadline day
Alan Myers has claimed he has not heard much by way of Everton transfer news as the window rapidly approaches its end, despite the need for additions.
The Sky Sports journalist responded to a fan on Twitter who claimed Everton wouldn’t be signing anybody before the window closes and wasn’t able to provide much more hope to fans who want more incomings today.
Sean Dyche’s squad is in need of further additions to his squad to provide him with more strength in depth as the club look to survive falling into another relegation scrap this season.
Disappointment on the final day
No news of any incoming transfers will be disappointing to both fans of the club and likely the club themselves at Goodison Park. The squad is still in need of new additions, particularly out wide and up front, but it looks as if they will see out the window without much action.
Everton’s need for new recruits out wide has been apparent, with Dyche forced to use makeshift options on either flank in each game so far this season, but it seems they will rely on players returning from injury to provide their options out wide.
Alex Iwobi’s potential move to Premier League rivals Fulham was expected to force Everton’s hand in terms of incoming players, with the club expected to receive £22million for the Nigerian international, who will leave them even shorter for quality depth.

Losing a player who has performed as well for the Toffees as Iwobi has, particularly in a central role last season despite the club’s struggles, to a Premier League rival will be a particular disappointment. If he cannot be replaced, which seems the way the day is going, it will be a terrible decision by the club.
