BT Sport pundit slams Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye after first half v Sheffield United
Jim Beglin was not pleased with how Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye gave the ball away in the first half that nearly led to a Sheffield United goal.
The Toffees visited Bramall Lane on Saturday (2 September) and while the opened the scoring, they were susceptible to turnovers on a number of occasions.
Gueye was guilty of not being tidy in possession and had James Tarkowski covering up for the misplaced pass.

Beglin, a BT Sport/TNT Sports pundit, said on the Premier League world feed at 12:51pm, “That’s a shocking pass from Gueye. He’s lucky someone covered up for him.”
Need to be tidier
If Everton are to win this game, they are going to have to be tidier in possession and show some more composure on the ball.
The first half felt like a lot of players were scared to keep the ball and always kept passing it around and trying long balls that didn’t find their target.

Beto dropping deep has certainly helped with the build-up play need to be showing some confidence in possession.
Gueye is experienced enough to know better and it remains to be seen if Sean Dyche asks for a more measured approach in possession for the second half.
There would be plenty of things he’s liked but keeping the ball should not be so frowned upon as it currently appears to be at Everton.
In other Everton news, a club chief had revealed his plans to sign a first-team Toffees player imminently ahead of the deadline.
