Alan Myers reacts to ‘disappointing’ Everton news as Fan Advisory Board change announced

Alan Myers has reacted to the “disappointing news” that Jazz Bal has resigned as chair of the Everton Fan Advisory Board.

The independent body announced the change in a statement on Thursday [7 September], which was put down to personal reasons.

Dave Kelly will take over as interim chair until a permanent successor is found, but news editor Myers is upset to see Bal step down.

“Disappointing news this, Jazz is a good guy,” Myers said in a Twitter post [7 September].

Good luck!

Bal has been at the forefront of numerous campaigns during his several years on the Everton Fans’ Forum.

Owing to his own job and family commitments, however, he has taken the decision to step aside as chair of the Fan Advisory Board.

Having a body that can hold the club to account is vital for any team, none more so than the Toffees, where they seem to lurch from crisis to crisis – relatively speaking, of course.

Whether it is to do with financial issues, problems regarding the new stadium or just general grievances, the FAB is there to act as a voice for fans.

It has been a disappointing start to the campaign for Everton, and things could get worse when their FFP case is finally heard in October.

On that basis, good luck to whoever it is who eventually takes over as the new FAB chair!
