Aston Villa ace Moussa Diaby sends three-word message to Demarai Gray after Everton exit

Aston Villa ace Moussa Diaby has sent a three-word social media message to Demarai Gray after his exit from Everton.

The latter has left Goodison Park to join Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq, as per the official Everton website (7 September).

Gray made 75 appearances for the Toffees across a two-year spell, having joined from German side Bayer Leverkusen in 2021.

Taking to Instagram to share the news of his new move, Gray wrote: “New chapter.”

Among those responding to the post was Diaby, who played alongside Gray at Bayer Leverkusen, with the player writing: “Let’s go bro.”

Moving on

The saga involving Gray and Everton was lengthy, but it has finally come to an end after the player made the switch to Al-Ettifaq.

He joins several other high-profile players in the country, with many making the move from the Premier League to the Saudi Pro League earlier this summer.

For Everton, the club are losing someone who could have definitely helped them on the pitch this season, particularly given their struggles in the final third.

But perhaps his exit was all part of Sean Dyche’s plan, with the Toffees manager having brought fellow wingers Arnaut Danjuma and Jack Harrison to the club in the summer transfer window. Both have joined on loan, with the former arriving from Villarreal and the latter arriving from Leeds United.

Their arrivals had seemingly pushed Gray down the pecking order at Goodison Park, with the player having not been named in a single Everton squad so far this season, even with Harrison currently out injured.

In other Everton news, a journalist has shared a surprising Toffees transfer verdict as a “happy” Dyche claim is made.
