Pundit slams Everton live on talkSPORT as ‘absolute mess’ claim made, club ‘left to rot’

Everton have been “left to rot,” with the Merseyside outfit an “absolute mess,” according to pundit Tony Cascarino.

The club finished 17th in the Premier League table last season, surviving by just two points, and have fallen into “freefall,” noted Cascarino.

They currently sit 18th in the table this time around, with just one point from their four top-flight matches so far this season.

“The respect that they have in the game has dwindled over the years because the club has just fallen into freefall,” Cascarino said live on talkSPORT

“It feels like they are fighting relegation every season now. Although they haven’t gone down, they feel like a team that has gone up and down.

“The club has been an absolute mess. I don’t know all the details, but what we can see is that the club has been left to rot in some ways, and I think Farhad Moshiri has probably had enough.”

Bright future?

Everton have enjoyed many superb moments throughout their history, but such moments have been non-existent in recent years.

Back-to-back Premier League relegation battles have put fans of the club through very difficult times, and those difficult times have continued into the new season.

Perhaps some Toffees supporters were feeling optimistic in the summer, with a few new faces arriving to try and help the club out.

But it hasn’t exactly gone to plan thus far, with the Merseyside club failing to win any of their first four league matches.

Manager Sean Dyche will be hoping he can turn things around as soon as possible, and it looks as if he will have some help soon after the takeover news concerning the club.

As per the official Everton website (15 September), Moshiri has signed an agreement with 777 Partners to sell the group his full stake in the club, with the transaction set to be completed before the end of 2023.

In other Everton news, Jim White has shared a “good intentions” Moshiri verdict amid the Toffees takeover news.
