Done deal: Everton agree terms with Billy Crellin as Goodison Park contract signed
Everton have confirmed that goalkeeper Billy Crellin has signed a new contract with the club until the end of June 2025.
The Toffees announced the new deal on their official website on Wednesday [20 September].
Crellin has been part of the Toffees’ U21 and U23 sides since joining from Fleetwood Town in January 2022.
The 23-year-old, who has yet to feature for the senior side, said upon agreeing fresh terms: “I’m over the moon to be extending my stay here.
“It means everything for me and my family because we’re all Evertonians.”
Loan move needed
Crellin may be awaiting his chance to shine at first-team level, but he has certainly caught the eye for the U21s.
The Blackpool native impressed in the midweek EFL Trophy win over Doncaster Rovers by keeping a clean sheet in a 2-0 win.
While it is pleasing to see an Everton fan on the club’s books, Crellin is hardly a youngster any more.
Indeed, by the time next season comes around, he will be 24.

It makes perfect sense for the keeper to now spend some time out on loan once the window opens in January, before potentially challenging for a squad place in 2024-25.
Jordan Pickford is the undoubted number one and that does not look like changing any time soon, barring relegation to the Championship.
Andy Lonergan and Joao Virginia are providing competition, and the aim for Crellin now has to be usurping both of those in the pecking order.
The only way he can do that is by shining away from Goodison Park.
In other Everton news, a worrying report suggests the Toffees could be just a few months away from entering administration.
