Everton transfer verdict emerges after 777 Partners talks between Don Dransfield and Kevin Thelwell
777 Partners are understood to have been “pleased” with how Everton conducted their summer transfer window despite having their “hands tied behind their back”, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The Merseyside paper reported via their website on 21 September that Josh Wander was accompanied by Don Dransfield for talks at the club this week, with the latter expected to be “significant with regards to the club’s strategy moving forward” if the takeover from Farhad Moshiri goes through.
Dransfield, formally of City Football Group, reportedly held an “open dialogue” with director of football Kevin Thelwell over the “football vision and strategy” under a 777 ownership.

And according to the Echo Dransfield and Wander are said to view the transfer activity this summer positively in light of the financial constraints, with the likes of Beto and Youssef Chermiti “deemed to have a high ceiling, acquired reasonably cheaply with considerable upside, as well as being acquired on favourable payment terms”.
Secure?
It sounds like Thelwell has been given a nod of approval from his prospective new bosses for operating under difficult circumstances.
The transfer window was another testing one, and gave an indication of just how tight the finances must be day to day at the club, with the only money actually paid out believed to be the loan fee for Arnaut Danjuma.
Getting Beto and Chermiti in on permanent deals without any money up front is an achievement, but it will only pay off if they are able to deliver on the pitch and can help secure Premier League status for when the payments do start to come due.

Clearly that hasn’t worked out so far with just one point picked up in the league out of five matches, but there is time to turn things around yet.
The developments with 777 Partners seem to picking up pace so a move that has already been subject to numerous questions from various sources may be on the cards after all.
Sean Dyche also met with the potential new owners and shared information with them regarding the “challenges” he has faced in charge.
There doesn’t look to be any shortage of those at present so if this takeover gets over the line 777 will have plenty on their plate to sort out.
In other Everton news, a major outgoing transfer could be on the horizon with a Toffees player being targeted for a possible move.
