Everton transfer news as Brazilian sensation Gabriel Moscardo wanted
Everton are interested in signing Corinthians youngster Gabriel Moscardo but face a race with Premier League clubs for his signature, according to iG Esporte.
The Brazilian news outlet (22 September) report that the Toffees have investigated Moscardo’s situation along with Nottingham Forest, Newcastle while Chelsea made a move to sign him during the summer window.
It is believed that Corinthians would want around €30million (£26m) with 25 million fixed (£21.7m) and another 5 (£4.3m) for objectives to part with him in the January window, despite having a €100m (£87m) termination clause in his contract.

Tough race
Moscardo, who turns 18 later this month, has already made ten senior appearances for Corinthians at the base of their midfield and is quickly becoming one of the country’s most gifted teenage footballers around.
Even at the tender age of 17, Moscardo possesses the unique qualities to control games through his excellent passing range, vision, ball-carrying qualities and tactical understanding of his role, it’s easy to see why he is so highly coveted right now.

The going market rate for progressive, press-resistant defensive midfielders is so high right now and it remains to be seen whether Everton will have the funds to acquire some of the best around, with Dyche’s favoured defensive midfielder Idrissa Gueye not getting any younger at the age of 33.
It may be more financially viable for Everton to target burgeoning young defensive midfield talents around the world to help aid their development and growth in order to become a hugely marketable asset for the future.
Much has been made of the Toffees’ financial plight right now, hence the several news flying around regarding a potential takeover from controversial Miami-based investment firm 777 partners and even if they were to complete the sale, they certainly won’t be splashing the cash immediately as a result of the Premier League’s strict FFP rules.
Signing talents like Moscardo seems the perfect bet but Everton certainly face a thought fight on their hands to sign him with the likes of Newcastle, Barcelona, Chelsea and Nottingham Forest also interested.
In other Everton news, Dominic Calvert-Lewin must deliver this season or face the prospect of a brutal Goodison Park axe, talks have already been held for a potential £30m replacement.
