Former Everton player Alex Iwobi has sent Dominic Calvert-Lewin a one-word message after the Toffees defeated Brentford.

The Merseyside outfit picked up their first win of the season by overcoming the Bees 3-1 on Saturday (23 September).

Calvert-Lewin was among the goals in West London, with Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Tarkowski also on target for the visitors.

Welcome back

Calvert-Lewin has had far too many injury struggles during his time at the Goodison Park club, which is hugely frustrating for all connected with the Toffees given his ability.

The striker was on the pitch for just eight minutes before latching onto a through ball from James Garner and slotting it home. His return from his latest injury is a huge boost for the Toffees, who have missed their star striker so far this season.

But it wasn’t just Calvert-Lewin who impressed, with Sean Dyche’s entire team putting in a really admirable performance to take all three points back to Merseyside.

Now the challenge for the club is to kick on from here, with a League Cup third round clash with Premier League rivals Aston Villa up next on Wednesday (27 September).

Toffees supporters will be desperate for Calvert-Lewin to be fit for that one, with a cup run certain to do wonders for the club this season.
