Everton in chase for Blackburn Rovers midfield ‘magician’ Adam Wharton
Everton are chasing a deal for Blackburn Rovers midfielder Adam Wharton, but the possible takeover by 777 Partners may be key to the move as they will need money invested to get it done, according to Alan Nixon.
The newspaper journalist shared via his Patreon on Sunday (24 September) that the Toffees have been keeping tabs on the youngster so that they are ready to make a move if funds become available.
It is also shared that Sean Dyche’s side made offers for swap deals during the summer transfer window, but were unsuccessful, and would have to find the money upfront to tempt Blackburn into selling now.

Nixon wrote: “Goodison spy Steve Davis watched midfield magician Wharton in action last week and they would love to be in the bidding.”
He would be a fantastic addition
Everton’s midfield is packed with players who are willing to work hard and put in a shift for the side, but in terms of creative forces who are confident and comfortable in possession, and will look to be creative going forward, they are lacking.
Wharton is exactly that type of player. A creative midfielder who is confident with the ball at his feet and has a great eye for a pass, he has started the season brilliantly, and the interest in the summer from Premier League clubs is starting to look justified.
Now just 19 years old, Wharton made his real first-team breakthrough last season as he featured 18 times in the Championship, but has stepped up further so far this season having played in seven of Blackburn’s opening eight games of the season.

If he continues to develop at his current rate, there is no reason why Wharton wouldn’t be able to play a part in Dyche’s team, with the squad lacking players with his skill set, which could see him play a key role should he arrive at Goodison Park.
