Everton to land young Paris talent recruitment boost with 777 Partners takeover – Arnaud Hermant

If 777 Partners takeover Everton the club will then be in line to benefit from the recruitment of young Parisian talent due to their ownership of Red Star FC in the city, according to Arnaut Hermand.

The L’Equipe journalist told the Liverpool Echo on 26 September that the prospective new Toffees owners’ plan is to “pool knowledge” between their clubs, while sharing data and medical services, so “it is certain that clubs in the 777 galaxy will benefit” from the “reservoir” of talent in the French capital.

Despite furious protests from fans of Red Star against the Americans’ ownership – they control 100% since last year – Hermand believes it can be a positive for the club, and has urged Everton fans to “give the product a chance”.

Hermant told the Echo: “Since their arrival, 777 have sought to structure the club and share certain services (such as data and medical) with their other clubs.

“They also focused on the development of the training centre in order to take advantage of the breeding ground represented by the Paris region but the project has not yet taken off completely because the club has not yet moved up to the second division.

“I don’t know whether there are fears they could become a feeder club to the bigger teams within the group. In the operation of 777 Partners there is a desire to pool a lot of knowledge and services available to all clubs.

“It is certain that the clubs within the 777 galaxy will benefit, in my opinion, from the reservoir of young footballers in the Paris region that their recruiters will be able to identify. Red Star and Everton are historical clubs so my message to Everton fans would be to wait and see – give the product a chance.”

Much-needed

Whether it is part of a sustained PR drive from 777 or a more nuanced picture emerging after initial alarm is hard to tell currently but the Miami-based company feels like it is getting some more positive press of late.

The process is in the hands of the regulators now so fans can only put their faith in the authorities doing their jobs properly and preventing the club falling into an even more difficult position that it is already in under Farhad Moshiri.

If it is to go ahead then the prospect of Everton bringing in talented youngsters from Paris, widely considered a hotbed for some of the best prospects in Europe, then it would clearly be a strong selling point.

In light of the current financial state at Goodison Park it has been more a matter of losing prospects for the future either before or as soon as they break through, rather than stocking up on new ones.

Whether it be Anthony Gordon, Ellis Simms or Ishe Samuels-Smith in recent months, the prospect of Everton building a cost-effective homegrown side has looked miles away when one after the other is sold for cash in the bank now.

Outside of the very top level in the Premier League a certain element of player trading is inevitable, but if the Toffees could bring in young talent and actually start to benefit from it before it leaves they would likely be much better off on the pitch and the balance book.

In other Everton news, the club are set to be at the “front of the queue” to land a high-profile manager if Dyche is let go.
