Alex Iwobi sends two-word message to James Garner after what he did for Everton v Aston Villa
Alex Iwobi has sent a two-word message to James Garner after he scored for Everton in the victory over Aston Villa on Wednesday (27 September).
The Toffees midfielder posted on Instagram on Wednesday that he was “happy” to score his first goal for the club in the 2-1 Carabao Cup at Villa Park.
The 22-year-old added that he hopes it is the “first of many”, with his former Blues teammate Iwobi responding to the post by saying “my guy”.

Close
It’s clear to see that the pair were pretty close during their time at Everton after Iwobi took the time out to message Garner on the back of him scoring his first goal for the club.
The Toffees man returned the favour by congratulating the Nigeria international after he scored for Fulham against Norwich City on Wednesday, as he responded with “my bro” to the 27-year-old’s post on Instagram.
Iwobi also messaged Dominic Calvert-Lewin after he scored the second at Villa Park, so he obviously still cares about how the club is getting on.

The midfielder was one of the Blues’ best players last season under Sean Dyche before he decided to leave the club for the Cottagers in a £22million deal towards the end of the transfer window.
The Merseysiders will be hoping Garner can have a similar impact this season after putting in some impressive performances over the past few games.
