Everton eye triple swoop for Harry Maguire, Aaron Ramsdale and Kalvin Phillips

Everton want to make moves for three England stars in the January transfer window, with Manchester United’s Harry Maguire, Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale, and Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips in line, according to Fichajes.

The Spanish news outlet shared on 27 September that all three players could be viable options for Everton after falling out of favour with their current clubs, with the Merseyside club able to offer regular football.

It is suggested that this recruitment drive would be led by prospective new owners 777 Partners, with heavy funding likely to be required to make the deals happen, and therefore they rely on the takeover being approved before the transfer window, which David Ornstein claimed was the hope at the club [The Athletic, 28 September].

Three sensational signings

Even any one of these players would be a brilliant addition to the first-team squad at Goodison Park, and would immediately raise the level of competition amongst the squad while providing a boost to the strength of the starting side.

Maguire is widely expected to leave Manchester United in the near future, despite turning down a move to West Ham in the summer, and Sean Dyche’s system could suit him perfectly as he eyes a return to form.

Phillips has been struggling to adapt to Pep Guardiola’s style at Manchester City and struggled in their League Cup defeat to Newcastle. Everton could hand him a way out, as well as promising regular football in the Premier League.

Ramsdale has found himself in a difficult situation at Arsenal, having been dropped for new goalkeeper David Raya. The Spanish report claims he would be a replacement for Jordan Pickford if he is sold in the January transfer window, with a loan deal not off the cards.

However unlikely any of these three deals may seem, particularly with the ongoing financial situation at the club, if any become available for a loan move, Everton could be the ones to step forward.
