Micah Richards names manager ‘perfect’ to be Everton manager amid Premier League worries
Sean Dyche is the “perfect” manager to be at the helm of Everton, according to Micah Richards.
Speaking on The Rest Is Football Podcast (2 October), the Match Of The Day pundit suggested that the Toffees boss’ vast experience in the Premier League is what the club need in their current situation.
Despite a recent two-game winning streak, Everton suffered a 2-1 defeat to Luton Town on Saturday (30 September) in the Premier League leaving them just a point outside the relegation zone.

Richards said: “Everton is perfect for someone like Dyche, just because he’s been there, he’s done it, he works on percentages. It might not be as easy on the eye as we all want, but it’s just about getting them little percentages that will make the difference staying up and going down.”
High praise
Dyche’s vast experience with working with substandard squads makes him a good fit for the Toffees. He thrived for nearly 10 years at Burnley, seeing the Clarents back to the Premier League and European football.
The Goodison Park faithful could only dream of such success with the current state of the club. With a takeover pending, Farhad Moshiri’s controversial stint at the club could be approaching its end. While many questions remain regarding prospective buyers 777 Partner’s suitability to run the club, big changes are possible soon.

Dyche’s tenure so far has been a mixed bag. He kept them in the Premier League last season by the skin of their teeth, with just two points separating them and Leicester City, but defeats like their home loss to the Hatters show that relegation could still be on the cards.
But Richards’ notion rings true here. Dyche has the appropriate personality and tactical style to, eventually, get the best out of some of his players. When, or if, the likes of Beto and Arnaut Danjuma become more prolific assets, then Dyche’s job will become much easier.
The side depends heavily on key players like Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Jordan Pickford, but if these types of stars do not perform, then there’s no real plan B. Dyche has the talent, but without further investment, there’s only so much he can do.
In other Everton news, a 777 Partners chief has issued an ‘ominous’ verdict after the Toffees defeat to Luton.
