Everton want to sign Hoffenheim star Maximilian Beier amid Liverpool interest in £17m+ deal
Everton want to sign Hoffenheim winger Maximilian Beier and have a “concrete interest” in him in a deal worth in excess of £17m, according to Christian Falk.
The Toffees have been linked to the 20-year-old forward, who has also attracted the attention of the likes of Liverpool and Brentford for the January transfer window.
Beier has a €20m (£17.2m) release clause for Bundesliga clubs and while he would cost more for English clubs, Everton are right in the race for his signature.
“Another name on Liverpool’s list is Maximilian Beier of Hoffenheim – I heard he’s definitely on the list, as he brings something that’s very interesting for Liverpool,” he wrote in his Substack column (6 October).
“His contract at Hoffenheim runs until 2025 and I heard he has a release clause; he’ll be a little bit more expensive for English clubs but for German clubs he’ll only cost €20m. So you see, Liverpool are looking around at the Bundesliga again.
“He’s a player you can educate, fast, can play as a striker as well as on the wings, which would be beneficial for Liverpool’s rotations in the forward line. I think he’s interesting.
“He could be the next German national player, perhaps not in the coming matches, but he’ll be in the national team. He’s not very expensive, which would fit into Liverpool’s business model.
“Keep in mind, though, that Brentford and Everton’s interest in the player is concrete.”
Talent
This is the right market that Everton should be shopping in. Top young talents with a high ceiling who aren’t going to cost an arm and a leg and will still improve the squad.

So long as they improve the team, bringing this talent in can only be a good thing and if they are able to perform to a high level then it means either the team will get much better and move away from relegation battles but also means we can sell them on for huge profits too.
With our current financial situation we need to be able to spend all our money properly and we can’t afford to waste cash, and this could be a real coup considering he is being tipped for a huge international future.
If Liverpool are interested then it shows he has a big ceiling and beating them to anything is always a good thing and we need all the morale lift.
It will be interesting to keep an eye on this deal for sure, but it’s clear that Everton are in the hunt for his signature come January.
