Soccer Saturday pundit Sue Smith wowed by ‘moment of absolute brilliance’ in Everton v Bournemouth

Soccer Saturday Sue Smith was wowed by Jack Harrison’s “moment of absolute brilliance” in Everton versus Bournemouth.

The on-loan Leeds United winger made it 2-0 to the Toffees in the first half of Saturday’s (7 October) clash against their fellow Premier League strugglers.

And Smith waxed lyrical about the winger’s coolness under pressure after Neto left himself vulnerable.

“It’s Jack Harrison with a moment of absolute brilliance,” Smith said live on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday (3:48pm, 7 October).

“It’s been all Bournemouth as well since Everton scored but the ball gets delivered, it’s actually Jack Harrison who delivers the ball into the area.

“Neto punches it, Everton keep it alive, then get the ball in, he punches it again, it comes to Jack Harrison, he’s outside the area, sees Neto’s off his line and just really composed, just plays it over the top of Neto.

“You’ve got to question his position probably the goalkeeper but brilliant finish from Harrison.”

Difference maker

When Harrison first arrived at Goodison Park on loan from Leeds United late in the transfer window he was unavailable due to injury.

But the winger has a lot of Premier League experience and can be a huge difference maker to this Everton side, especially once he gets back into a full rhythm now that he is once again fully fit.

It was a brilliant bit of composure to get on the scoresheet here and Harrison is a player who can create and score goals from out wide, something that Everton have been badly lacking in recent seasons.

Keeping him fit will be the biggest issue, when a player has a lengthy injury they can often pick up other little niggles and struggle to stay fit for long periods.

But if he does then he can be a big contributor to Everton and Sean Dyche going forward. Here’s hoping that is the case.

In other Everton news, a sack decision on Sean Dyche has been made clear amid “eternal truth” 777 Partners vow.
