Kevin Campbell issues five-word response to Seamus Coleman ‘Legend’ comments
Everton hero Kevin Campbell has told Seamus Coleman that he is a club legend despite the Irish defender revealing he doesn’t consider himself one.
Coleman was speaking in an interview with BBC Sport about his Toffees career where he revealed he doesn’t see himself as a club legend as he hasn’t won a trophy during his time at Goodison Park.
But Campbell, who is a fan favourite of the club, responded on his personal Twitter account (12 October) with a five-word message to the skipper to assure of his status in Everton folklore.
“Well you are Seamus Coleman,” he wrote, accompanied by a blue heart, a football and a praying emoji.
Legend
There is not a single Everton fan that exists in this world who believes that Coleman is not a club legend, and rightly so.
Coleman has made over 400 appearances in the famous blue since signing from Sligo Rovers for just £60,000 and has gone on to become one of the best right-backs to ever play for us.
He could easily have gone elsewhere in his prime and played at the highest level in the Champions League, but he was loyal to the badge and wanted to get there with us rather than with anyone else.

Whether he goes on to win a trophy in his remaining years in the game or not, he will forever be considered one of the best to play for this club and will go down in folklore for everything he has done.
His standards are so high that he doesn’t see it himself, and this club probably let him down over the course of his career, but he is undoubtedly an Everton legend.
