Pundit slams Everton midfielder Amadou Onana after what he did

Michael Ball has slammed Everton midfielder Amadou Onana after what he said about his future at Goodison Park on international duty.

The former Blues player has compared him to his compatriot Romelu Lukaku outfit Inter Milan who was also asked continually about when he’ll be taking the next step in his career.

Onana, when asked about it, rather than saying he’s focused on playing for the Toffees, stated that he cannot predict the future.

Ball told the Liverpool Echo, “Onana finds himself in that same situation and should maybe have a conversation with Lukaku about how to go about things as Lukaku strained his relationship with the fans at times because of such comments.

“Belgium obviously rate Amadou as a top player and see him playing for a bigger team in Europe. But, while he is at Everton, it is disrespectful to talk up the prospect of moving on.

“Everton will probably need to have a little word with him about things, in the same way they did with Lukaku when he came back to Finch Farm on the back of breaks abroad.”

Spot on

Onana was signed last summer for big money and he knew that Everton weren’t among the creme-de-la-creme in England.

He was aware that it would be a relegation dog fight and that things may get worse before they get better.

He could’ve moved to West Ham but chose to join Everton and now he cannot go and complain after one tough season.

Even though he might want to leave, the best way to deal with this situation is to say that he’s not thinking about his exit and that he only wants to focus on the Toffees.

This would show his professionalism and even if he does want to move, he can get on the phone with his agent at any time.

Sean Dyche is certainly not going to be a fan of this and he needs to talk some sense into how he must conduct himself while on international duty.

In other Everton news, a condition has now emerged on Sean Dyche being sacked amid trouble behind the scenes at Goodison Park.
