Conor Coady shares Everton verdict as Sean Dyche admission made

Conor Coady believes Everton need clarity from top to bottom to allow the club to move forward.

Speaking on the BBC’s The Monday Night Club on 16 October, the former Blues defender, who now plays for Leicester City, said the club needs “direction” and a way of playing on the pitch after experiencing a couple of disappointing seasons.

The 30-year-old added that Sean Dyche has brought a bit of clarity to the playing side at Goodison Park, but that it is still needed off the pitch in terms of recruitment and the way the dressing room is run.

“I think the whole place needs clarity from top to bottom,” said Coady. “I think it needs a direction. I think it needs a way of playing on the pitch. I think, obviously, the manager there now in terms of the way he wants and a little bit of clarity when showing how he wants to play and how he wants his Everton team to look like, I think he’s brought that.

“I think the clarity of the football club, that’s how top football clubs are run, when it comes to recruitment from top to bottom, when it comes to how the place is run, when it comes to what sort of players you want in your dressing room, what leaders you want, how you want your dressing room run.

“There are so many things that come with that and I think that’s a massive part of it.”

Uncomfortable

It’s pretty clear that Everton are in a pretty uncomfortable position at this moment in time due to all the off-field issues and the way that has impacted results on the pitch.

Although it is still an honour to be a Toffees player, it certainly can’t be an easy club to play for at this moment in time due to all the outside noise.

There has been very little clarity provided in recent years and, even though a takeover has been agreed with 777 Partners, there are so many unknows about how that is being funded and whether or not it will go through.

Despite a difficult start to the season, Dyche will be hoping the convicing victory over Bournemouth before the international break will have provided his players with some much-needed confidence.

All they can do is continue to represent the club as well as possible on the pitch and hope that matters on Merseyside will start to get easier at some point soon.

In other Everton news, the club could have been handed a January transfer boost in their bid to sign a player.
