Everton reported to the Premier League over alleged failure to pay agent fees
Everton have been reported to the Premier League having allegedly failed to pay an agent fee related to a recent signing, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported on its website on Thursday (19 October) that the fee was related to an international arrival and that the agency had already sent “multiple legal letters” to the club over an unpaid invoice worth “several hundred thousand pounds.”
Sources close to the club have disputed whether or not the Toffees agreed to pay the agent and have suggested that the agent in question was not only the registration documents that were submitted to the Premier League and the FA at the time.

The transfer took place sometime between 2019 and 2022, with Everton failing to pay a settlement fee on “reduced terms” that had been proposed instead of the full invoice. Josh Wander has been informed of the current situation since he agreed to buy the Goodison Park-based club.
By flagging the matter to the Premier League, lawyers have claimed that the Toffees had not reported the payment to their auditors with the Blues believing that “given the payment is disputed they are not obliged to report it.”
More hot water
It feels as though there hasn’t been a normal day at Everton football club once in the past few years, with constant news breaking and very little of it positive as the Toffees continue to struggle both off and on the pitch for any consistency.
Given the Blues are already facing a potential points deduction for an alleged breach of the Premier League’s financial fair play rules, they really can’t afford to make too many more financial missteps and this has the potential to be a big one.

Once again the Toffees are fairly certain that they have done nothing wrong which is positive for supporters and there is every chance that this latest mistake comes to absolutely nothing, but it is not a good look for Everton and could impact them in several ways.
Hopefully, this turns out to be an agent looking to make a quick buck rather than a genuine issue, however, it could affect the Toffees’ position when attempting to sign players in the future as agents are unlikely to get their clients a move that might not see them get paid.
