BBC pundit: Sean Dyche ‘relishes’ underdog role, Everton to give ‘best shot’ v Liverpool
Sean Dyche will relish being the underdog when Everton take on Liverpool at Anfield, according to Michael Brown.
As reported on BBC Sport (20 October), the pundit claimed the tactics of the match will suit Everton at Anfield and their fresh boost of confidence could give them a chance.
Everton take the short trip to Anfield in search of their third away derby win since 1999 on Saturday (21 October).

Brown said: “As for Saturday, they are used to going to Anfield with no one expecting them to win and Dyche relishes being leader of the underdogs. He will get them ready, sit out of possession and wait. That will suit them.
“After the result they had against Bournemouth, they go there with much more confidence and not looking over their shoulder like they were doing. They will give their best shot at Liverpool.”
Hopeful
Brown has given Everton more of a chance than most other pundits, but he understandably holds some reservations about the Toffees’ chances in the clash.
Everton will look to counter-attack Jurgen Klopp’s side like that have done successfully this season, but they will struggle to create as many chances as they have against the likes of Bournemouth and Sheffield United when facing Liverpool’s strong defence and possession-obsessed midfield.

While their form had been unpredictable, the Toffees come to Anfield on the back of an important win against Bournemouth. While the international break makes this fixture feel like a lifetime ago, just two weeks previously James Garner, Jack Harrison and Abdoulaye Doucoure all netted in the 3-0 win.
Such confidence will be needed if Dyche is to get anything from his game against Liverpool, who have lost just one game this season in controversial style against Tottenham.
Few travelling Toffees fans will be sitting in the Anfield away end with much hope of a win, but Dyche thrives in these scenarios and an upset is no impossibility.
