Everton handed clear timeline to sign Kalvin Phillips as Fabrizio Romano drops transfer update
Everton suffered their sixth loss of the new Premier League season at the hands of fierce rivals Liverpool on Saturday (21 October).
The Reds ran out 2-0 winners in the Merseyside Derby clash at Anfield thanks to a double from star man Mohamed Salah.
The defeat leaves Sean Dyche’s side sitting 16th in the table and in desperate need of points as they look to stay away from the dreaded relegation zone.

And one way in which they may try and do this is with more new faces, with Manchester City man Kalvin Phillips potentially one such face. As reported by iNews (10 October), Everton are among the clubs interested in signing the England international.
And now the Merseyside outfit have been handed a timeline update on the potential departure of the midfielder, as per Fabrizio Romano.
“In the summer he had many possibilities he decided to reject because he wanted to continue at City to fight for a place, but now it’s almost November and he’s still never playing,” Romano said on his YouTube channel (21 October).
“So the feeling of sources on both player and club side is that in January it’s very likely that Phillips will leave Man City to try a different experience.
“It will be decided at the end of November, beginning of December, when we’ll understand more on this story, or maybe January directly. It depends on the timing, but at the moment still nothing concrete.”

The report that Phillips is likely to leave the Etihad in January is certainly positive news for Dyche and Co., but whether or not they can win the battle for his services remains to be seen.
A move really does need to happen, with his fellow midfielder Rodri not going to lose his starting role under Pep Guardiola anytime soon.
In other Everton news, Toffees fans will fear the worst as Sky Sports shares a worrying fixture update.
