Fabrizio Romano drops Everton transfer tweet after Crysencio Summerville scores late Leeds United winner
Crysencio Summerville rejected several clubs to remain at Leeds United amid interest from Everton, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist tweeted on Saturday (21 October) that the Toffees were joined by Bournemouth and Burnley in the race to sign the Dutch winger over the summer.
He added that more Premier League clubs are now monitoring the situation of the 21-year-old, who scored two goals in the Whites’ 3-2 win over Norwich City on Saturday.
Tough
It’s not too surprising that Everton were interested in signing Summerville over the summer as he fits the profile of the kind of player the club were trying to bring in.
It is a bit of a surprise, though, that he decided to reject a number of Premier League clubs to remain with Leeds in the Championship and he deserves credit for that after several players jumped ship at Elland Road.
After scoring four goals and laying on two assists for the Whites last season, he has already reached those exact same figures in his opening nine games of this campaign.

There will likely be a lot of interest around the Dutchman again once January comes around if he continues to impress in West Yorkshire.
But the more clubs that get involved, the tougher it will be for the Toffees to compete given the club’s financial issues, so this could be a January deal that won’t be possible for them.
