Everton set to test Leeds United resolve for Crysencio Summerville transfer – Carlton Palmer
Carlton Palmer believes that Everton will be one of a number of Premier League clubs who test Leeds United’s resolve for Crysencio Summerville in January.
The Dutch winger has been in inspired form for Daniel Farke’s side so far this season, scoring four and assisting twice in eight starts, including two excellent goals to secure the Whites’ comeback win over Norwich City on Saturday (21 October).
Everton are likely to look to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window, should funds be made available to Sean Dyche and former England midfielder Palmer believes that the Toffees could be interested in signing the 21-year-old.

Speaking to Football League World on Tuesday (24 October) Palmer said: “Premier League clubs are monitoring Crycensio Summerville ahead of the upcoming transfer window. The likes of Bournemouth, Everton and Burnley will all test Leeds’ resolve in the January transfer market.
“But with Leeds intent on a return back to the Premier League at the first attempt, it’s important they retain their better players – and Summerville is definitely one of those.”
Great addition
Summerville would be a really exciting addition to Dyche’s squad if the Toffees were able to pull off a deal for the Leeds star in January as the 21-year-old has added the end product to his game that was occasionally missing during his time in the Premier League.
But any deal is likely to be expensive as Leeds will be reluctant to sell Summerville midway through their hunt for promotion and the winger’s excellent form is likely to only see competition for his signature increase as clubs around Europe take note.
Everton do need to add to their squad to ensure Premier League safety, but they arguably have more pressing areas in which they need to strengthen when January rolls around than the wide areas, with defensive reinforcements required desperately.

If Dyche does decide to add to his attacking options, he would be better served by making a move for a genuine goalscoring forward than a winger as his team’s main problem this season has been converting chances rather than creating them.
Both clubs negotiated well to agree a loan deal for Jack Harrison over the summer and Everton may be better served making the Englishman’s stay permanent rather than spending further money recruiting Summerville.
In other Everton news, the Toffees may be forced to sell Amadou Onana as Newcastle eye the midfielder
