Everton favourites to sign James Overy, work permit no problem after he wows at Finch Farm
Everton are in pole position to sign young Perth Glory defender James Overy, according to Alan Nixon.
The newspaper journalist reported via Patreon on Sunday (29 October) that the 16-year-old Australian is also wanted by West Ham and Leicester.
It is understood that the right-sided wing-back has already been on trial at Finch Farm and starred in a youth game for the Blues last week.

Nixon adds that Overy, who is set to make a senior debut for A-League club Perth Glory, doesn’t need to obtain a work permit to play in the UK due to having a Scottish mother.
The Scottish FA are reportedly chasing Overy to ensure he turns out for them in the future instead of Australia.
New Seamus Coleman?
Everton need to keep on adding to their youth ranks because at the moment, the club cannot afford to keep splashing huge money on first-team signings.
Due to FFP restrictions and other financial issues at Goodison Park, money is tight so signing up-and-coming youngsters is a good way of not only ensuring there’s a depth of talent at the club but also a way of making money in the future.
Overy sounds like a very good talent.

He’s 16, he’s impressed on trials at top clubs in England, he’s got a British passport and he’s already on the verge of a senior debut in Australia.
Everton are seemingly in a good position to land Overy but obviously there’ll be a lot of twists and turns before this deal is made official due to the heightened interest and the fact that this is a young lad who’s being asked to move to the other side of the world.
We’ll see how it pans out but Everton may have found themselves a new Seamus Coleman here.
