Chris Sutton shares ‘realistic’ Everton expectation live on BBC as Premier League relegation claim made
The ‘realistic’ expectation for Everton this season is staying in the Premier League, according to BBC pundit Chris Sutton.
The Toffees currently occupy 15th position in the table, with Sean Dyche’s men on 10 points from their 10 matches so far.
The Merseyside outfit are five points above the relegation zone, and nine points off rock bottom of the Premier League table.

“I like Dyche,” Sutton said on BBC 5 Live Sport’s Monday Night Club (30 October). “I think he’s getting there slowly, but they could still go back to square one again in their next game, you just never know with Everton.
“But I do feel that the expectation levels have dropped among the fan base, and this season is about staying in the Premier League. That’s not a great expectation but I think that’s realistic.”

Worrying times?
Everton started the new league campaign much like they finished the last one, in very worrying form. A goal from midfield ace Abdoulaye Doucoure managed to save the club from relegation on the final day of last season in their 1-0 win against Bournemouth.
Many fans were optimistic that it wouldn’t be the same story this time around, but that has been the case, with Everton winning just three of their 10 matches so far.
They are, however, finally finding a bit of form, with two victories from their last three Premier League matches. But it remains to be seen if they can keep the positive results coming, with a very dangerous Brighton side up next in the league.
The Seagulls travel to Goodison Park on Saturday (4 November), but before that Dyche welcomes his former club Burnley to Merseyside for a League Cup round of 16 clash on Wednesday (1 November).
In other Everton news, Micah Richards was stunned by one Toffees player on Sky Sports at full-time against West Ham.
