Francis Okoronkwo on verge of signing long-term deal at Everton
Everton are on the verge of agreeing a new long-term contract with “highly-rated youngster” Francis Okoronkwo, according to The Athletic.
The news outlet reported on 28 October that the Blues have pushed forward with getting the 19-year-old striker to sign fresh terms as his existing agreement is due to expire at the end of the season.
It is understood that Okoronkwo could be loaned out to an EFL club by Everton as they seek to continuing aiding the youngster’s development at Goodison Park.

Great news
Okoronkwo is a player who could have a good future in the game so it’s great to see that Everton have moved to tie him down to a long-term contract at the club.
Okoronkwo is yet to make a senior appearance for Everton in competitive football but he was with the first-team squad that went on tour to Evian in the summer and has also been with them on matchday.
It’s all great experience for the teenage sensation but ideally, he’ll want to get senior minutes soon.
Ultimately, he hasn’t done amazingly in Premier League 2 with just six goals in 34 total appearances at that level, with two goals coming in seven games in that division this season.
The former Sunderland attacker, who can play across the whole of the front line, needs to go out on loan and a January move to a League One, or even a Championship club, would benefit him massively.
There’ll no doubt be teams vying for a loan signing of a young striker in the winter so Kevin Thelwell needs to start getting the feelers out soon to ensure he finds the right club for Okoronkwo.
In other Everton news, a “very alarming” update has emerged on the takeover.
