Brighton injury news emerges ahead clash v Everton as Tariq Lamptey in contention to start

Brighton star Tariq Lamptey is in contention to start against Everton in their Premier League clash at Goodison Park on Saturday, according to Ben Dinnery.

The injury expert, taking to his personal Twitter account (3 November) shared that the Ghanaian international will likely come in to replace the injured Pervis Estupinan against the Toffees after missing the last four matches.

Dinnery also shared that key Seagulls duo Danny Welbeck and Solly March are long-term absentees for Roberto De Zerbi’s men.

He tweeted: “Tariq Lamptey is in contention for the trip to Goodison Park on Saturday. The defender has missed the last four matches after picking up a muscle injury against Marseille, and he could slot in at left-back with Pervis Estupinan still out.

“Danny Welbeck and Solly March are out long-term.”

May repeat?

The last time Everton faced off against Brighton, Sean Dyche’s men pulled off an absolute tactical masterstroke on their way to Premier League safety in May.

Dwight McNeil and Abdoulaye Doucoure both hit doubles and a Jason Steele own-goal secured a rampant 5-1 win at the American Express Stadium, one of the surprise results of the campaign following the Seagulls’ stark progression under Roberto de Zerbi.

Can Dyche’s men use that game as inspiration again for Saturday? The way Brighton are defending right now, conceding 19 goals in their ten Premier League games so far, despite their decent position in the table could provide Everton plenty of encouragement.

Also, the Seagulls have some notable absentees in their squad but still pose a strong threat to Everton on Saturday given the young and burgeoning talent they possess all over the pitch.

Sunday’s win over West Ham United at the London Stadium certainly showed the abilities the Toffees have when stifling talented attacks and Brighton certainly possesses one of the most exciting in the division.

But that won’t stop Dyche conjuring up another surprise win and Everton will have the fans fully behind them, but they’ve only tasted one home win so far this campaign and that must be corrected on Saturday.

In other Everton news, the Toffees along with Aston Villa wanted to sign one talented Englan under-21 international winger during the summer transfer window, a January transfer can’t be ruled out.
