“I fell in love with this club since the moment I signed here. Thanks to the Blues Fans for all your support. UP THE TOFFEES!!”

Among those commenting was Everton loanee Maupay, who is currently on loan at Brentford, who wrote: “Well deserved my guy.”

Great news

There haven’t been many standout players at Goodison Park in recent years, but midfielder Doucoure has been one of them, producing impressive displays both defensively and offensively.

The 30-year-old has particularly excelled under manager Sean Dyche, with the former’s best moment perhaps coming on the final day of last season when his goal against Bournemouth saved the club from relegation to the Championship.

Doucoure has continued his fine form into the new campaign, once again netting against the Cherries, as well as finding the back of the net against Brentford and Sheffield United.

The Toffees need their senior players to step up this season in order to climb the Premier League table, and Doucoure has certainly answered the call.

He will undoubtedly be a key man in the months to come, and Toffees fans and Dyche can now relax that their midfield maestro will be there for the foreseeable future.
