Everton want to sign Borussia Monchengladbach starlet Winsley Boteli
Everton have swooped to sign Borussia Monchengladbach striker Winsley Boteli ahead of Juventus, according to a report by Calciomercato (7 November).
Writing on their official website, the report suggests that the Serie A giants are very interested in the Swiss forward who has scored 12 goals in 11 games for the Gladbach Under-19’s this season.
But they face “fierce competition” from the Toffees, who have already “swooped” on the player to try and get him to move to Merseyside ahead of Turin.

“This year he has already equaled last year’s numbers and has ended up in the notebook of an expert manager like Giuntoli,” they wrote. “His contract is in force until 2025, but the call from a club like Juventus could bring him to Italy soon.
“However, for the Bianconeri, who dream of an offensive alternative that can soon settle into the Italian championship, there is fierce competition from Everton. The English club has swooped on the player, who has recently relied on Chris Mandiangu as his agent.
“The interest is alive and Juve will have to speed up the pace if they want to bring the young player into the team.”
Talented
Everton have had a striker problem for a long time, although Sean Dyche has done really well to offset those issues this season and help the team find goals consistently.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s fitness remains a concern despite being able to play more often than not this season, while Beto has struggled to find the net despite good performances since arriving from Udinese in the summer.

But the club allowed both Ellis Simms and Tom Cannon to leave permanently in the summer, and Youssef Chermiti hasn’t shown much as the young striker signing to suggest he could be the man going forward in upcoming years.
Boteli is attracting interest from some of Europe’s giants so Everton are clearly acting quickly to try and get a headstart on any potential deal, but it won’t be easy to convince him to come here over joining one of those clubs when he won’t be a regular here either.
If he did join he’d definitely be one for the future, but it would be a very exciting signing for the future of the club and this is one to keep an eye on over the coming weeks.
