Marcel Brands shares Sean Dyche ‘stability’ prediction at Everton as ‘so badly needs’ claim made

Everton can become stable under Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell, according to the club’s former director of football Marcel Brands.

Thelwell currently occupies that role after Brands left Goodison Park in December 2021, with Dyche currently in the dugout.

The Merseyside outfit sit 16th in the Premier League table, with 11 points from their 11 matches so far thanks to three wins and two draws.

“I’m not prepared to speak on the details of how my exit from Everton came about in respect to the club but I believe under Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell the club can get the stability it so badly needs,” Brands told AD Sportwereld, as transcribed by the Mirror (8 November).

Stability incoming?

Former Toffees chief Brands may be spot on with his prediction, with the Goodison Park club slowly but surely starting to find some form under Dyche.

The manager endured a rocky start to the new campaign, with his side involved in a relegation battle early on. But the Toffees have managed to produce some fine displays to pick up some much-needed points in recent times, inching themselves away from the bottom three.

They have certainly been helped by those around them, with newly-promoted trio Luton Town, Sheffield United and Burnley all massively struggling in the top flight.

Bournemouth are also having trouble near the bottom of the standings, with all four clubs currently well below Everton in the table.

But Everton fans won’t be smiling just yet, with plenty of huge fixtures coming up, beginning with a trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday (11 November), with matches against the likes of Manchester United, Newcastle United and Chelsea coming up shortly.
