Everton to benefit from multi-club structure as 777 Partners make transfer move

Everton could be set to benefit from the multi-club structure if 777 Partners complete their takeover, as Fabrizio Romano shared a transfer update between two of their other clubs.

The latest news concerns a move for Vasco da Gama midfielder Marlon Gomes, who Romano claimed via his Twitter page [15 November] is attracting interest from fellow 777 club Genoa.

In the long-term future of Everton, this could prove beneficial. 777 own clubs all over the world, and their exciting players would now be more likely to make a move to Goodison Park.

Vasco da Gama, a Brazilian outfit playing in their top division, could present a clear route for young Brazilian stars to make their way to the Premier League and, more notably, Everton, if 777 intends to create direct links between their group of clubs.

This would also include the likes of Genoa in Italy, Standard Liege in Belgium, and Hertha Berlin in Germany, all of whom could potentially play a role for one another in terms of player development and transfers.

An example of this in the Premier League would be the City Football Group, or Chelsea’s link with French side Strasbourg, while, on a smaller scale, Crystal Palace owner John Textor has allowed the South London club to deal with Belgian side Molenbeek.

One potential spanner in the works for Everton would be the new Premier League regulations preventing deals between clubs owned by the same owner, which is expected to ban loan moves from associated clubs to protect the integrity of the competition. [The Athletic, 8 November]
