Peter Reid mocks Telegraph journalist as Everton and Premier League update shared
Peter Reid has delivered a savage one-liner on Twitter in response to an article written by Telegraph journalist Sam Wallace over Everton and their financial affair.
Everton fans have been less than impressed with Sam Wallace’s coverage of the recent punishment delivered to the club over a profit and sustainability breach earlier this month.
Reid, a former Everton player who made over 150 appearances, gave his verdict on the journalist’s coverage, replying to his most recent article published about the financial affairs surrounding Goodison Park.
“Sam from the Telegraph getting briefed,” Reid jokingly commented under Wallace’s post.
Us against the world
It is understandable why Everton fans feel like the Premier League is against them. With just one breach that the club are being charged with, the Toffees have been handed one of the harshest point deductions in the league’s history.
This has all happened while Manchester City and Chelsea are yet to be found guilty of several financial breaches. So, of course, tensions are rising high amongst the Everton faithful, especially with the 10-point deduction leaving them one place above the bottom of the table and at risk of relegation.

Everton plan to appeal the decision made by the Premier League. But if they are still found guilty after the appeal, all fans will be asking for is equality between all the clubs in the division. It could almost be seen that the league are afraid to punish the top sides, which is why nothing has been done about Man City or Chelsea yet.
Is fairness too much to ask for? Apparently, it seems like. Fans are becoming more annoyed as journalists, such as Wallace, are being accused of being transparent in their storytelling and article writing.
In other Everton news, Jamie Carragher has shared a “huge” admission ahead of the game against Nottingham Forest.
