Ex-Everton Scout moots Carabao Cup final and Premier League safety under Sean Dyche
Goodison News is delighted to welcome aboard our brilliant new columnist Bryan King, the former goalkeeper who spent over eight years as a scout at Everton and 28 years in total in first-team scouting roles. Bryan also spent six years on Tottenham’s recruitment team and 11 years scouting at Aston Villa across two different spells…
Bryan King believes Everton will avoid relegation from the Premier League this season despite being hit with a 10-point deduction for breaching financial rules.
Everton are currently 19th in the standings, level on points with bottom-placed Burnley but above them on goal difference.
King maintains his belief that the three newly promoted teams – Burnley, Luton and Sheffield United – will be relegated back to the Championship.

Interestingly, King has also mooted the possibility of the Toffees reaching the Carabao Cup final.
On 19 December, the Blues welcome Fulham to Goodison Park in the quarter-finals of the competition, which is without Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal at this point.
King reckons it would be a great season if his former club stays up and gets to Wembley.
“They’re still in the Carabao Cup, which is also a good incentive for them. What a season it could be if they avoid relegation and get to a cup final,” King told Goodison News.

“I thought they deserved to go down last year when Frank Lampard was the manager but this year, you’ve got a fighter in Sean Dyche; he’s not going to take anything lightly. He’s up for the fight and he’s going to make sure the players are.
“I’m still going to go with Burnley, Sheffield United and Luton to finish in the bottom three.”
In other Everton news, Gary Lineker has lashed out at Moshiri, who could be set to sell up to 777 Partners soon.
