Ex-Everton Scout moots January loan deals as Dele Alli slammed in transfer verdict
Goodison News is delighted to welcome aboard our brilliant new columnist Bryan King, the former goalkeeper who spent over eight years as a scout at Everton and 28 years in total in first-team scouting roles. Bryan also spent six years on Tottenham’s recruitment team and 11 years scouting at Aston Villa across two different spells…
Bryan King expects Everton to only sign players on loan if they are to welcome any new faces in the January transfer window.
Everton’s 10-point deduction leaves them in the Premier League relegation zone and out of fear of breaching profit and sustainability guidelines again, it could be a fairly quiet January in terms of incoming arrivals.
If they are going to come in, former Blues scout King believes Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell will have to make use of the loan market.

King has also questioned whether Dele Alli may still have a role to play at Goodison Park but he doesn’t seem too hopeful about the former Tottenham midfielder.
“They’ve got to be careful now with the financial fair play,” King told Goodison News.
“Where are they going to get the money from? They can’t spend any, really so they’ve got to be looking to sign players on loan.
“What’s happened to Dele Alli? I don’t think he’d be useful. I’ve never thought of him being an Everton player since the day he went up there.

“There’s a month to go until January and it’s a month where Everton are going to be playing pretty much two games a week until the new year. Everton have got seven matches in December.”
The Toffees kick off their hectic December schedule with a trip to Nottingham Forest on Saturday (2 December) before taking on Newcastle at home on Thursday night (7 December) and then welcoming Chelsea to Goodison next Sunday (10 December).
In other Everton news, Gary Lineker has lashed out at Moshiri, who could be set to sell up to 777 Partners soon.
