Everton handed double boost ahead of Nottingham Forest clash as Sky Sports statistics emerge

Everton have another chance to bounce back from their recent 10-point deduction when they travel to the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest.

The Premier League clash on Saturday (2 December) is the club’s second following the punishment for breaching the competition’s profit and sustainability rules.

The first was supposed to be the start of a fightback from the Toffees, but Manchester United destroyed those plans with a 3-0 win at Goodison Park last Sunday (26 November).

But it may have been the home stadium that was the problem, and not the opponents, with Everton boasting a much better record on the road this season.

The fact they have more wins, points and goals away from home in the current campaign, incidentally from one fewer match than at Goodison Park, should give the Toffees a boost ahead of their next trip.

But another boost comes from the statistics from Sky Sports (2 December) that Everton have a better shot conversion rate (13%) and save ratio (63%) away from home than they do at home (4% and 57% respectively).

Star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be keen to increase the former tally against Steve Cooper’s men, with goalkeeper Jordan Pickford wanting to do the same to the latter tally.

But it will certainly not be an easy task, with Forest making the City Ground a fortress in recent times, having gone eight matches unbeaten in the Premier League there before their 3-2 defeat to Brighton on Saturday (25 November), as per Sky Sports (2 December).

In other Everton news, a former Goodison Park chief has shared a “very surprised” verdict after the club’s 10-point deduction.
