Kris Boyd fires jibe at Everton loanee Neal Maupay live on Sky Sports after incident in Brentford v Luton
Kris Boyd has fired a jibe at Everton loanee Neal Maupay live on Sky Sports after he put Brentford ahead against Luton Town on Saturday 2 December.
The Frenchman scored the second goal of his loan spell with the Bees against the Hatters at the Gtech Community Stadium, as Thomas Frank’s side ran out comfortable winners to climb into the top half of the Premier League.
Maupay has earned a reputation for missing big chances during his time at Goodison Park and Brighton and Boyd didn’t miss the opportunity to fire a jibe at the 27-year-old suggesting that not even he could miss such an easy chance.

Speaking on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday (2 December, 16:08) he said: “It’s a ball in the box, Ben Mee plays it wide, Wissa with the cross into the box, Luton should probably defend it better and it ends up bouncing off one of the defenders straight to Maupay inside the six-yard box.
“Even he couldn’t miss, smashes it past Kaminski, 1-0 Brentford.”
Could not miss
Anybody that watched Maupay during his time with Everton would know to never claim that the Frenchman couldn’t miss because almost every time he was in on goal at Goodison Park he managed to find a way to spurn the chance in some fashion.
The 27-year-old has now already managed to match his goal tally on Merseyside within 10 games of his return to Brentford and while supporters will be frustrated that he could never do it in a blue shirt, it could be beneficial to the Toffees in the long run.

Maupay’s goal against Luton has ensured that the Hatters won’t move too far away from Everton in the relegation battle, with the gap currently between the Toffees and safety sitting at five points before their clash with Nottingham Forest.
Hopefully, if Maupay continues to find the net regularly for Frank’s side between now and the end of his loan spell, Brentford will move to make his stay permanent and activate the clause in his contract and take the Frenchman off of Sean Dyche’s hands.
