Sky Sports pundit offers ‘criminal’ verdict as Everton win at Nottingham Forest in Premier League

Courtney Sweetman-Kirk labelled the lack of attacking threat shown by Nottingham Forest in their defeat to Everton as “criminal”.

The Toffees picked up a huge 1-0 win at City Ground on Saturday (2 December) to move to within two points of Premier League safety.

Dwight McNeil scored a sublime strike in the 67th minute to seal the points against Forest, who did not test Jordan Pickford until falling behind.

Sky Sports pundit Sweetman-Kirk said on the Premier League World feed [2 December, 19:08]: “To not register a shot on target is criminal.”

Pickford did have to make two saves later on in the game, but there is no doubt that this was a toothless display from Forest.

Everton themselves struggled to take their chances, but McNeil’s moment of magic proved enough in the end.

While Pickford did not have a great deal to do, he still made the saves when needed and also denied Anthony Elanga a shot on goal.

Last week’s 3-0 loss to Manchester United was a setback, but Everton’s form either side of that result gives fans plenty to be cheerful about.

With a bit of luck, Sean Dyche’s men will be out of the relegation zone come this time next week, even after being docked 10 points.

As for Forest, their form is very worrying, which is great news for Everton as it means an extra team in the relegation dogfight.

On the basis of their lacklustre showing at the City Ground, it may well be that we overtake them in the not-too-distant future.

In other Everton news, Dyche admitted to being “stunned” as a journalist shared the latest on news regarding a fresh points deduction.
