Everton takeover verdict shared amid Farhad Moshiri stance

Paul Brown has made an admission on Farhad Moshiri if the 777 Partners’ proposed Everton takeover ends up falling through.

The Josimar journalist believes that it will be an embarrassment for Moshiri if for some reason it does not go through.

The takeover has not fully been given the green signal but that is expected by the end of the year.

Brown said Give Me Sport, “You also have to remember that there’s currently a review going on into their ownership of the London Lions basketball team where they’re essentially going through the same fit and proper person process again. I’ve been told by some people at the British Basketball League that they’re pretty likely to fail that as well.

“So, if the Everton takeover does collapse, I think it would be a huge embarrassment for Moshiri and a big problem for the club, who are currently surviving on loan money from this company.

“But there are other potential investors out there who, I’m told, are waiting to see what happens and believe they can step in and get the club for a discount if 777 fail. So, I think in the next couple of weeks, you’re likely to see movement on this.”

Failure on the cards?

Everton’s takeover is of paramount importance as it not only shapes the future direction of the club but also impacts their financial stability and competitiveness.

The potential collapse of the takeover, particularly with the scrutiny of the owners’ fitness to run the club, could lead to a substantial financial setback for the Toffees.

The club’s reliance on loan money from the current owners underscores the urgency of securing a stable and committed ownership structure.

A failed takeover would not only be a significant embarrassment for Moshiri but could hinder Everton’s ability to compete in the transfer market and invest in the team’s infrastructure.

Moreover, the potential for alternative investors to step in signals the club’s attractiveness and potential for growth under new ownership.

The next few weeks could be crucial in determining Everton’s ownership landscape, and the outcome will undoubtedly have ripple effects on the club’s immediate and long-term prospects.
