Sky Sports journalist Keith Downie shares Kieran Trippier injury update ahead of Everton clash v Newcastle
Kieran Trippier wasn’t seen in Newcastle United training ahead of the clash against Everton on Thursday (7 December), according to Keith Downie.
The Sky Sports journalist tweeted on Tuesday (5 December) that he understands the 33-year-old England international was inside receiving treatment and there is nothing to be concerned about.
But he added that none of Sven Botman, Joe Willock, Callum Wilson, Elliot Anderson, Dan Burn, Sean Longstaff, Jacob Murphy, Harvey Barnes or Nick Pope trained with the rest of the Magpies squad as they prepare to make the trip to Goodison Park.
Stretched
It’s pretty fair to say that the Newcastle squad is stretched at this moment in time after the injury to keeper Pope added to their worries in the 1-0 victory over Manchester United on Saturday (2 December).
It means Eddie Howe will be without several first-team players ahead of the game against Everton as the amount of fixtures begins to take its toll.
But it does look like there shouldn’t be too much concern around Trippier’s availability after the latest update on the right-back.

He is an integral player for the Magpies, so they will be desperate to have him involved in what should be a hard-fought contest on Merseyside.
Sean Dyche will be looking for his side to take the game to the visitors as they look to climb out of the Premier League relegation zone following their 10-point deduction last month.
In other Everton news, a Toffees-linked player has responded to speculation around his future.
