Sky Sports pundit fumes live on air after Everton moment v Burnley

Sky Sports pundit Andy Hinchcliffe destroyed Burnley live on air after Everton went 2-0 up through Michael Keane, slamming the hosts for their defending.

Hinchliffe labelled Vincent Kompany’s team “all over the place” after Keane put the visitors two goals up in the 25th minute at the second time of asking after his first shot was blocked.

Burnley have struggled to perform at Turf Moor since their promotion to the Premier League, having picked up just three points at home from a possible 27.

Speaking live on Sky Sports Main Event [16 December, 17:56], Hinchcliffe ranted: “High line from Burnley, they get turned around, and it’s far too easy for Michael Keane to have too much space and time for the initial shot, and then he gets a second bite of the cherry from the rebound.

“Burnley are just all over the place defensively and Everton are being clinical. Opportunities are coming and they are taking them.”

Everton have twisted the knife

Taking a 2-0 lead at Turf Moor through one of the Clarets’ former players, with their former manager at the helm, will be a bitter blow to a Burnley side who have already had very little to smile about when playing at home so far this season.

It was Everton who exemplified just how poor Burnley have been this season when they were handed a ten-point deduction by the Premier League and still sat above the hosts in the table, a display that the newly-promoted side must step up.

Dyche’s men have been galvanised by that point deduction and are on top of the world after beating both Chelsea and Newcastle in recent weeks, flying up the table and proving their worth at this level.

Burnley, meanwhile, look to be sinking without a life jacket and are struggling to perform, especially when playing at home. With Hinchcliffe so heavily critical of their display and the way they defend, something may have to change soon at Turf Moor.
