Dean Jones makes ‘difficult’ Everton and Tottenham prediction on Dele Alli

It will be difficult for Everton and Tottenham to negotiate anything regarding Dele Alli, according to journalist Dean Jones.

According to the Daily Mail (20 November), the Toffees need to pay their Premier League rivals £10million if Alli makes seven more appearances for Everton.

Alli, who joined the Goodison Park club from the North London side in January 2022, has made 13 appearances for the Toffees so far.

“I really hope that Dele Alli basically gets a big say here in what actually happens and what he wants, because this is about protecting a player and a person more than anything,” Jones told GIVEMESPORT (17 December).

“We all saw the documentary with Gary Neville and in the days around that I think we all had extreme sympathy for him that we probably hadn’t had before that moment. Even people close to him in football may not have realised the depths of the things that he’s been through in life.

“So you get to this moment and I think it’s more about how Dele Alli can resurrect his football career at this moment. It’s going to be difficult to negotiate anything, it seems, between Everton and Tottenham, but they’ve got to find a way to get this going again.”

Hope remains

Alli may not have made an appearance for Everton this season, but the former England ace has been spotted training at Finch Farm.

After all that he has been through on and off the pitch, that is definitely a step in the right direction, with an appearance this season perhaps coming soon.

There is also positivity when it comes to the manager in charge, with Sean Dyche certainly a strong character to help get Alli through these tough times.

Everton fans will certainly want to see the midfielder back to his best, with the 27-year-old not having been himself for some time now.

He once lit up the Premier League with Tottenham, producing several stunning moments on and off the ball. There is still hope that the midfielder can rediscover that form, which also saw him shine for England, but it is some way away at this moment in time.

In other Everton news, a Sky Sports journalist has shared what Dyche did at the full-time whistle after the win against Burnley.
