Nottingham Forest ace Anthony Elanga sends message to Amadou Onana after Everton win v Burnley

Nottingham Forest attacker Anthony Elanga has sent a message to Everton ace Amadou Onana after his goal against Burnley.

The Toffees midfielder scored the opener as Sean Dyche’s side defeated the Clarets 2-0 on Saturday (16 December).

Former Burnley defender Michael Keane was also on target in the Premier League encounter at Turf Moor, with Dyche also returning to his former club.

Celebrating the goal and win, Onana posted on Instagram (17 December): “What an afternoon, buzzing for my first Premier League goal of the season, let’s keep it going. Thanks to the travelling fans, you guys have been fantastic.”

Among those replying to the Everton midfielder on the social media site was Nottingham Forest ace Elanga.

Big performance

Onana hasn’t always been in Dyche’s thoughts this season, but the midfield ace proved his worth to his manager against the Clarets.

The Belgium area impressed both defensively and offensively as the Toffees produced yet another professional display on the road.

The three points have helped the club rise to 16th place in the Premier League table, with Everton having taken over Elanga’s Nottingham Forest.

Steve Cooper’s men are now 17th after losing 2-0 at home to Tottenham on Friday (15 December), with Elanga having played the entirety of that match.

Dyche’s side are now on a four-match winning run, but must now turn their attentions away from the league and towards the League Cup.

They welcome London outfit Fulham to Goodison Park for a quarter-final clash on Tuesday (19 December). Given the huge efforts from his players lately, Dyche is likely to switch up his starting XI for the meeting under the lights on home soil.

In other Everton news, a Sky Sports journalist has shared what Dyche did at the full-time whistle after the win against Burnley at Turf Moor.
