Richard Keys shares ‘sneaky feeling’ ahead of Everton clash v Fulham
Richard Keys has shared his “sneaky feeling” ahead of the Carabao Cup clash between Everton and Fulham, suggesting he thinks the Toffees could do “very well” in the competition.
Sean Dyche’s side have the chance to reach the final four of the competition when they face Marco Silva’s Fulham at Goodison Park on Tuesday 19 December and head into the match full of confidence having won their last four games.
While Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle United all remain in the competition, Keys believes that the Toffees could go all the way in the Carabao Cup, suggesting that they’ll take “some beating” if they can get past Fulham.

Writing in his own personal blog (18 December) he said: “What 10-point deduction? It’s as if it never happened. Everton were fantastic at Burnley. I said last week – Sean Dyche really has got something going at Goodison.
“I’ve got a sneaky feeling they might very well win the League Cup you know. If they get past Fulham this week – you watch. They’ll take some beating, whoever they play in the semi-finals.”
Take some beating
It’s amazing what a few weeks do for everybody’s confidence in football. It was only a matter of weeks ago that Everton supporters had resigned themselves to a place in the Championship next season following their 10-point deduction and now they’re targeting silverware.
There is still plenty of football to be played between now and the final at Wembley, but there is absolutely no reason that the Toffees can’t go all the way and lift the trophy at Wembley as Keys has suggested in his blog post.

One of Middlesbrough or Port Vale will have a place in the semi-final, so there is a very real chance that Everton could face lower-league opposition in the semi-final and then have to play one of the Premier League’s big guns if they make it to the final.
But throughout the season so far, Everton have shown that they can beat anybody that they face over 90 minutes. Knockout football is incredibly different to the Premier League and if Dyche’s side performs as they have in the last month, they could match Keys’ expectations.
