Everton: Paul Brown shares update on Arnaut Danjuma future at Goodison Park amid Villarreal recall speculation
Sean Dyche effectively has the power to bring an end to the Everton career of Arnaut Danjuma over the coming days.
talkSPORT reported on Tuesday [2 January] that Danjuma is growing frustrated at Goodison Park and looks likely to return to parent club Villarreal this month.
The six-cap Netherlands international has started just three Premier League matches since joining Everton on loan in the summer.

In an update shared via GiveMeSport [2 January], journalist Paul Brown has suggested Danjuma’s lack of starts could see the loan deal cut short.
“For Danjuma, I guess the situation is not ideal,” Brown said. “I could understand that he might be looking around thinking that he isn’t going to get the minutes he wants at Everton and needs a move somewhere.
“I don’t think he has pulled up any trees for Everton, and I doubt he is going to get many more chances than he has already.
“That being said, I think Everton don’t have the biggest squad. You look at their bench sometimes in games and there isn’t a whole lot of game-changers on there to begin with.”
Danjuma cannot be blamed for feeling frustrated at his lack of opportunities, but he has not exactly forced Dyche’s hand with his performances.
The 26-year-old has scored once in his 12 Premier League appearances, the vast majority of which have admittedly been made up with cameos from the bench.

That is not to say Dyche cannot get more use out of the versatile attacker, with Thursday’s (4 January) FA Cup third-round tie at Crystal Palace a great chance to give Danjuma some minutes.
If Dyche elects against naming the Dutchman in his starting line-up for that game – and the Toffees will likely go with a fairly strong XI at Selhurst Park – then surely his Goodison career is over.
On the contrary, if Danjuma starts and impresses, it could well cause a rethink from Danjuma, Everton and Villarreal.
Everton do not have another game until their home match with Aston Villa on 14 January, at which point Danjuma may well be back in Spain if not selected against Palace.
While losing Danjuma would hardly be a major blow for Everton, it would mean one less option for Dyche to choose from across the second half of the season. That therefore makes this situation one to keep a close eye on in the coming days.
