Everton transfer news as Arnaut Danjuma set to quit with signing needed

Arnaut Danjuma looks set to return to Villareal in January with his Everton loan spell to be cut short, according to talkSPORT on Tuesday 2 January.

It is reported that the Dutch attacker is frustrated by his chances at Goodison Park and wants out this month after only five months on Merseyside.

Any immediate decision may depend on “cash-strapped” Everton finding a replacement to help Sean Dyche keep the club in the Premier League.

It was also reported by talkSPORT earlier on Tuesday that the Toffees were contemplating offering Jesse Lingard a lifeline short-term deal at the club.

That could be a replacement for Danjuma, who is wanted by Ligue 1 side Lyon, who may be able to offer him more playing time this season.

Move on.

This move has not worked for all parties, and it may be best for everyone that the deal is terminated and allow them to go their separate ways this month.

Danjuma has made little to no impact at Goodison Park whatsoever, but he would likely argue that he hasn’t been given the chance to do so by Dyche.

The manager will not be too concerned about the development, and it was likely expected given the few times we have actually seen the attacker play.

Everton aren’t blessed with funds to spend as the proposed 777 Partners takeover has still not gone through, but you would like to think that other loans are on the table.

Given we are only two days into the window though, it looks as though things are moving very quickly with the FA Cup break set to hand the Toffees time to go about their business if needed.
