Arnaut Danjuma will leave Everton amid January transfer update on Willy Gnonto from Leeds United
Arnaut Danjuma is “leaving Everton this month” to go to France with the Villarreal winger’s loan to be terminated early, according to Graeme Bailey.
The journalist told the One Leeds Fan Channel on 4 January amid an update on the future of Willy Gnonto that the the Dutchman’s time at Goodison Park is set to end.
While he suggested that could in theory open the door for the Toffees to make another run at the Whites attacker after failing to land him in the summer window he doesn’t believe there is enough interest in the Italian for him to move in January.
Bailey said of Gnonto’s future (8m 55s): “It’s one for later in the window. It wouldn’t particularly surprise me if, we’re going to see Danjuma leaving Everton this month, he’s going to go France, do Everton have another sniff?
“I don’t particularly see that necessarily. I think Gnonto would look at a move, but is the interest there? I’m not sure the interest is massively there for him this month.”
Decision made?
It won’t come as much of a surprise if Danjuma is done at Goodison Park because his impact after arriving at the second time of asking has not be what was hoped for.
Having backed out of loan a year ago in favour of joining Tottenham the 26-year-old has only scored once in 12 Premier League appearances, with most coming off the bench.
Since another Leeds United man, loan winger Jack Harrison, recovered from injury he has relegated Danjuma to reserve duty more and more, leading to uncertainty over the latter’s future on Merseyside.

It sounds like his immediate future is indeed going to be elsewhere which would necessarily leave a gap in Sean Dyche’s squad for a new attacker.
Everton were offering more than £25million for Gnonto, 20, before the close of the previous transfer window, and the youngster even held out and put in a transfer request as he pushed to make the move.
Leeds refused point blank but he has only ended up starting six times in the Championship all season as the likes of Crysencio Summerville, himself of recent interest to the Toffees, have thrived ahead of him.
But even if Gnonto is now available it seems unlikely that Everton would have the cash available currently to do the deal, so if Danjuma is going it might need to be another cheap loan that fills the gap.
